Boys & Girls Club of the Wausau Area Welcomes Three New Key Staff Additions
JULY 22, 2019 – WAUSAU, WI – The Boys & Girls Club of the Wausau Area, which serves more than 7,000 area youth with life-enriching programs, is pleased to introduce three new essential members to the team.
Within just the past few weeks, the Club has filled the roles of Events & Marketing Director, Grants and Outcomes Director, and D.C. Everest Site Director. We are thrilled to expand our team to continue to serve the needs of the children of the Central Wisconsin area.
Sheila Cover is the new Grants & Outcomes Director – a vital role that will help secure necessary funding for programs. Prior to the Club, she worked at a technical college for six-and-a-half years developing and supporting grants. With a passion for community impact, other previous roles included a grants role at the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Twin Cities, and a communications role at a Community Foundation.
“I appreciate that the Club fosters an environment to help youth grow into successful adults so they can flourish, succeed, and contribute to society,” Sheila said. “I am excited to work at the Club because the kids are the future and I have so much hope for them. They are the next generation of innovators, collaborators, and change makers.”
“Sheila brings a wealth of experience to this important role,” said Boys & Girls Club of the Wausau Area CEO Matt Jameson. “She has dedicated her professional life to developing resources which help children, increase workforce development, further the cause of education and enrich the community. Sheila will play a key role in measuring our program outcomes and showing our investors the life-changing dividends they make possible.”
Cassandra Ambrosius is the new Event & Marketing Director – a brand new position for the B&G Club. Cassandra previously has experience with WAOW TV-9 most recently as the Content Manager. She has also worked at Eastbay in the marketing department. Cassandra currently serves on the United Way Emerging Leaders Board of Directors and is a Big Sister through Big Brothers, Big Sisters.
“I’ve always had a passion for volunteering and I am so grateful for the opportunity to turn that passion into a profession,” Cassandra said. “Being originally from Virginia, I have made Central Wisconsin my home over the past eight years and I’m excited to continue to grow and help serve this community.”
“We are excited for Cassandra to join the Boys & Girls Club team,” said Jameson. “Her integrated marketing experience, public relations skill set and community-driven passion will enable us to share our mission of enriching and transforming the lives of young people in a more personal way. The Boys & Girls Club Movement is one of the most hopeful and positive forces in our community and Cassandra’s expertise will help young people, parents and investors understand how ‘great futures start here.’”
Alexis Radloff is the D.C. Everest Site Director, coming to the Club after three years of teaching 4th and 5th graders in the area in both the Wausau School District and the D.C. Everest School District. Alexis has a great deal of excitement for planning programming at the Greenheck site and at D.C. Everest Middle School. Alexis will work closely alongside Erick Steiniger, who is the Caroline S. Mark Site Director.
“I share a lot of the same core values that the Boys & Girls Club has and I’m really excited to share that and help kids build better lives,” Alexis said. “I want to work with kids in a way that I’m able to beyond teaching in the classroom, so they’re ready to enter the classroom each day.”
“We are fortunate to have someone of Alexis’ caliber direct our Club locations at D.C. Everest Middle School and Greenheck Fieldhouse,” said Jameson. “Alexis brings a strong background in education and youth development to these sites. Alexis and her staff will provide impactful programing centered on academic success, healthy lifestyles and positive social interaction for our members at these sites.”
Together, these three will help continue the success of the Boys & Girls Club of the Wausau area and continue to allow great futures to start HERE.
